Our Advisors
Pastor Emanuel (Manny) & Sunny Kim’s names perfectly exemplify who they are – people who bring smiles and God’s presence wherever they go. Manny studied MCB (Molecular Cell Biology) and Psychology at the University of California at Berkeley and since graduating in 1992, worked as a bi-vocational minister serving on the Berkeley campus reaching out to college students. After 9 years, in 2001, he committed to enter into full-time ministry and began seminary studies at Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, receiving his MDiv degree in 2003. In 2004, he completed Chuck Colson’s Centurion’s Program, in the first year of the program’s inception, a program dedicated to training leaders from the Christian Worldview. Sunny, a former loan administrator with friendly phone manners and a bright smile that landed her on a World Savings ad, now works as our church administrator. She is, however, more than the church administrator, but a co-worker in ministry, being actively involved in all areas of ministry from ministering to people to coordinating events. Together, they impact and train college students and working professionals on how to grow in their walk with God. They live in Austin with their daughters, Corrie (11) and Naomi (6). Their favorite times are hosting different groups of people in their homes around a meal, usually amidst much laughter and fun as they create memory-making moments and have fellowship around the Word of God as they talk about life from God’s perspective.
