The Summer On-the-road TFN kicks off next Friday beginning in Dallas (Houston in July) and inevitably, as it is with human nature, comparisons are bound to be made over which city is better. Here are some very compelling, unbiased arguments from some of our members. Feel free to comment with your own opinions.

You can bring your lunch and we’ll bring lots of food to share too! Come anytime between your break from 12-2pm and we’ll meet at the tables between the FAC & Union. If it rains or it’s too cold, look for us inside the Texas Union eating areas. Date: Thu, 4/29 TFN: The Friday Night Bible Study (Fri 4/30)Posted on April 22nd, 2010 by Henry in Events, Past Events

Good Friday is a day of remembrance when, we solemnly reflect on the death of our Savior Jesus on a Roman cross to pay the penalty for our sin. It is a sober reminder of what we did to God before our joyous celebration of what God did for us—resurrect from death and conquer Satan, sin, and death—on Easter Sunday. We are going to have a special viewing of the Passion of the Christ movie before the Good Friday Service starting at 5 pm. Click here for a map to the Episcopal Student Center. Mark your calendars for our special Spring Welcome Night. Free food, rockin’ live music, and a thought-provoking talk… join us and invite your friends for a special night of laughter, fun, and reflecting on the deeper issues in life. Date/Time: Friday 1/29, 6:30pm (Beginning with a free BBQ) When: Saturday 1/16/10 to Monday 1/18/10 This retreat is a special time away from the stress and distractions of life to spend some good time together and carefully consider life, God, and how it all comes together. We guarantee that you’ll have a lot of memories and food for thought. It’s open and relevant to everyone, whether you’re new to Christianity or a Christian seeking to grow more. This year, the retreat theme will be driven by biblical lessons from the super-exciting, some would say “epic”, Lord of the Rings story (and yes, movies!). You don’t want to miss out! Sign up to attend the retreat! During this season of Thanksgiving, we will be having two community service opportunities as we share God’s love with our neighbors. As we are grateful for all that God has done in our lives, we want to express that in loving those in need around us. Please join us for either our visit to the Austin Nursing Home and Salvation Army Shelter on Saturday, Nov. 21. We will hold a special presentation at each of the locations, making and giving crafts to either the children at the Shelter or the elderly in the Nursing Home, and share a special message of God’s love. And that was just the first night! The following day some bros caught the sunrise, some went fishing, and then after brunch and devotional time, everyone got together for a drive over to Enchanted Rock (‘North America’s largest pluton’), where we hiked up to some crazy rock formations, fished at Moss Lake, and then capped it off with a gorgeous sunset at the end of the Summit Trail. The drive home was chock-full of funny jokes, riddles, and Talkabout-car games, with a stop off at Cooper’s BBQ in the middle. Phew! It was such a blast, and we can’t wait for our next soph+ outing!
