Dallas Winter Break Gathering!
This past Saturday, we had a chance to meet up in Dallas for our winter gathering! It was nice to see some familiar faces during the winter break, and we were lucky to have wonderful weather so we could make the most of our time together.
We started off with some good eats at In-N-Out Burger! Over animal style fries and an assortment of secret menu items (from protein burgers to 4-by-3’s), we got to catch up on each other’s lives, and it was exciting to hear about the progress of winter equipping from various people, whether about the good books they read or volunteering at a food bank or even learning how to make baked treats! Overall, it sounded like everyone was having a pretty sweet time.
From In-N-Out, we headed out to play Whirlyball! For those of you who aren’t familiar with the sport(?), it’s a combination of lacrosse and basketball, all played in bumper cars! Teams of 5 duked it out on the courts, and the sophomores came out on top with a whopping 18 total points.
After Whirlyball, we made our way to the fields of a local high school and enjoyed the sunny weather by playing kickball, softball, and ultimate Frisbee! The teams were split into “Freshmen” and “Other” and scores were neck in neck throughout the games. Afterwards, we had a chance to huddle and pray as one for the upcoming UCLA mission trip as well as the annual Gracepoint Winter Retreat.
After working up a fierce appetite from all the sports and activities, we ended our time together with dinner at H Mart. It was great seeing everyone again, and hope we can all make the most of this last week of winter break before the new semester begins!
