Graduation Sunday 2014

Written by Steffanie W. Graduation Sunday is a day where we, as a congregation, celebrate with the graduating seniors for the completion of their college-careers and praise God for His faithfulness in each of their lives through these past 4 years. It feels like they were just freshmen not too long ago and they’re already graduating! Four years definitely did fly by! :)

The class of 2014 sang the song “Live with Abandon” by Newsboys as their song of commitment – to live a life that is fully abandoned, surrendering themselves to God.

Interspersed in the song were some sharings from the seniors about how God was able to do far more abundantly than they could ever imagine throughout their college years.

It was truly a day of celebration and also a reminder of our identity as imitators of Christ, who labored for the sake of others and whose love for God is beyond all comparison.

As part of the Class of 2014, I’m so thankful for this opportunity to look back at these past four years and see our theme verse, Ephesians 3:20-21, coming alive in my own life, which says: “Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” Our prayer is that we would live a life that’s glorifying to God, who gave us new life of abundance through Jesus Christ, remembering that it is a privilege to pass the baton of love and good news of the Gospel to others.
