Celebrating the 4th of July

There’s nothing like celebrating America’s independence than spending it out of town with friends! For this year’s July 4th outing, a group of us went up to our Longhorn Lodge a day early, spending the night there playing sports in the new gym and ending late with a showing of Pacific Rim. The following day was filled with more fellowship, as we started the morning with devotions, board games, smoked pork loin lunch, and more sports.

We then headed out and went separate ways – some for Sonic shakes, others to try out Clear River ice cream (famous for its peach, amaretto, and Mexican vanilla flavors) – until finally regrouping at Fredericksburg’s park. People ramped up for the fireworks playing baseball, tennis, card games, or even kayaking on the river.

It was pretty amazing when the fireworks finally went off, feeling almost as if the fireworks were right on top of us. We overall had a blast!
