Winter Olympics Koinonia Edition!
*cue Olympics music
*cue the lights and torch
What’s that I see? Koinonians attempting to be Olympians. Doing our own rendition of curling, ice hockey, the luge, and even alpine skiing! On one of our Friday night Bible studies, each class took a shot at winning gold, from creating their team flag to jumping in potato sacks.
But before we let the games begin, we had a good time actually studying the Bible through Luke 12:22-34. We talked about the many things about life that cause us anxiety. As we examined Jesus’ response to his disciples, we saw the loving and caring heart of Jesus, who knows what we need and wants us to trust in Him, as He’s very much like a Shepherd who provides and cares for each of us as His flock.
In our groups, we had a lot of fun drawing out the different characteristics of Jesus and presenting it to other groups. Overall, there’s much to be thankful for knowing that we don’t need to anxiously find security in this world, but can be secure in who Jesus is as our Shepherd.
After the Bible study content time, we had a pretty rowdy and exciting time of competing against each other, culminating to a gold win for the Juniors! Although we will never be true Olympians, we can have a lot of fun trying to be. 😊
