Avid Backpacking at UT

For the #UT28 folks out there.

Waiting to pack your bag until the morning is no fun, especially when you’re late for class! It’s also easy to forget to bring things, especially the important ones like last night’s homework - yikes. We’ve prepared a list to help you double-check your backpack so that you’re prepared for UT Austin classes!

Essentials

All essentials. Swipe your UT ID to open some locked doors on campus and use those bevo bucks or dining dollars to your advantage!

** Tip: UT IDs work also work from inside a wallet **

Homework

Doing your homework and getting a zero on it is something you definitely want to avoid.

Contact Info Card

Add your name and phone number in case you lose your bag. Without it, it will be very difficult for someone to trace your bag back to you.

School Supplies

Pencil Bag

Pencils, pens, erasers, highlighters, and sticky notes galore.

A must have. They say that handwritten notes helps you retain more info. Tablets and computers provide an awesome alternative with digital notes!

Textbooks (Maybe…)

Digital textbooks are a lot lighter, but everyone studies differently! Try it out for yourself and find out how you learn best.

Planner

I’ve tried to avoid using a planner for college. It didn’t work. Google Calendar and Google Tasks are great alternatives!

Energy bars, chips, candy, and dried foods like beef jerky and dried fruits are good options

Make sure your snack doesn’t spoil quickly, and be aware of the weather - chocolate doesn’t store well in the summer!
