Texas Winter Wonderland: Winter Gatherings 2016
by Nathalie L.
As many are back home for winter break, spending time with family or preparing themselves for the semester to come, various home groups in Austin embarked on drives to Dallas, Houston or San Antonio, on a cold winter weekend to reconnect with them.
While the weather outside was kind of frightful, the warm and pleasant reunions were quite delightful! We were dispersed in our different home groups, trying to hit up attractions and activities these cities were known for.
Many had a jump start on being active this new year, as some played basketball, football, or went on a couple of rounds of mini-golf. The Chao home group took it to another level, as they did a throwback to our childhood days of go-kart racing!
[Is this the new way to play mini golf?]
[Steven breaking ankles, Bryan doesn't know which way to go]
[Ethan looks looks like he's just enjoying the ride]
However, for others they went on what seemed like a boba tour, as they went from one boba place to another on the search for the best boba.
[Kung Fu Tea seems like a likely favorite for these sisters]
[Looks like the brothers' vote is for Share Tea]
And of course no trip would be complete, without some of the good food that these different places had to offer!
[Sisters really eyeing those appetizers..]
[Want some (kimchi) fries with that?]
[Sam couldn't even wait for the picture to be taken]
All in all, it was a good time of food, fun and fellowship, as we were able to reconnect with those who are back home for the break. Can't wait to see everyone back in Austin for the spring semester!
